Gaming is multi-platform, and is popular with all kinds of people no matter where you are! So in this blog I will be looking at what I think are the 6 most accessible games available for download on the iPhone X.
These games can also be downloaded on other phones and tablets.
No 6: Minion Rush
Minion Rush is a game developed by Gameloft and is available to download for free on the iPhone X. It was released in June 2013 _ not long before or after the release of the 2nd Despicable Me film came out (and which my younger self absolutely loved) _ and lets you play as different minion characters as you complete quests. Most of the action within the game I can do, but what I always found frustrating was how I couldn’t work the rocket, moon, and slide quests properly.
It says in the game that to complete all of them you have to tilt your phone _ which is very hard to do if you can’t use your hands. Luckily, I have a strong mouth which helped me discover that I could tilt my phone by hitting it over using a stylus and the side of a 3D Phone Cover, but it still doesn’t take away from how it excludes people who don’t have as much movement or force as me.
No 5: Temple Run
Temple Run is a game developed by Imangi Studios, and was released in August 2011. It has a similar concept to Minion Rush, but instead has you running through a temple being chased by gorillas while you try to find your way out. Like the actions in Minion Rush, I also found the actions in Temple Run easy on the whole, but I don’t like also having to tilt the phone as it is very difficult for me to tilt.
Overall, I did find both of them very easy to play, but my advice to both Gameloft and Imangi Studios would be to include an autotilt option in settings, or include the option to just move the character across by just dragging or tapping on the screen.
No 4: Number Cross
Number Cross is a game developed by Astraware, and was released in April 2012. It lets you play four different puzzles a day, and is basically a mobile version of a normal Number Cross puzzle.
It’s very easy to drag numbers up, but what would make it even better would be the option to make the puzzle smaller in size. As it stands, it’s just a wee bit hard to reach up if you need to get higher, but everything else is fine.
No 3: Kriss Kross
Like Number Cross, Kriss Kross is a game also developed by Astraware, and it was released alongside it in April 2012. Same as Number Cross, Kriss Kross offers 4 new puzzles a day, and also like it, the main grid is simple. But like what I said about Number Cross, I would like if they could add an option of changing the size of the grid to make it more reachable.
No 2: Knife Hit
Knife Hit is a game developed by Ketchapp, and was released in June 2018. You can complete challenges or just play as normal, which you do by throwing knives at a piece of wood until it breaks. You get new knives the higher up in levels you get, and you can take a move by just tapping.
For having a good colours with fantastic accessibility, I will rate Knife Hit as Number 2!
NO 1: Candy Crush
Candy Crush is a game developed by King, and which had its iOS version released in April 2012. It is a puzzle type quest game, where moving candies to a particular spot or tapping boosters is easy!
For this reason I’m giving it my Number 1 spot.
