‘Love Is An Open Door’ is an award winning short film I co-directed, edited and wrote a song for when I was 17 in 2015, which then went on to win a number of awards, including at a celebrity attended Cinemagic BFI Film Festival, as well as the Directors Choice Award at the Film 19 Devour Short Film Festival.

It follows the story of a young man called Guy who has recently been dumped by a girl called Jamie who he only went on one date with, and who he wants to get back together with.

Broadcast Journalism / Journalism

On 9th June 2022, I had an article published in the County Down Spectator about whether or not e-gaming should become an equivalent for disabled sport.

The article was written from the perspective of how disability sports as they stand only allow disabled people with lower level disabilities to take part and how e-games could be a solution to letting people with higher level disabilities get involved with sports.

On 1st October 2024, I had my first by-line on the BBC News Northern Ireland website, ‘Call to make gyms more inclusive for disabled people’ which I worked on with Julie McCullough.

The article was about a woman with a learning disability called Aisling who is a weightlifter and was calling for gyms to become more accessible for people like her. It also touched on the health inequalities that exist between people with a learning disability compared to people without a learning disability.

The story was also featured on ‘Good Morning Ulster’ and ‘Newsline’.

On 28th November 2024, I organised a debate on Assisted Dying which would take place the next day on Good Morning Ulster, ahead of the vote that was held in the House of Commons.

The debate was between Gavin Walker, Chair of the campaign group, My Death My Decision, and Peter Lynas from the Evangelical Alliance UK.

I was given full control over who to invite on.

On 12th December 2024, I had my second by-line on the BBC News NI website, with an article called ‘Gamer to creator – taking esports from bedroom to classroom’, which I worked on with Robbie Meredith.

The article was about Cedar Lodge School in Belfast, which last year, became the first school in Northern Ireland to open an esports classroom for its students.

I also went out to the school to see it being filmed and to help with reporting.
